FORMED 1988



The second single from Liverpool’s Rain was another classic. “Taste of Rain” was lifted from the album of the same name and demonstrates what this band were brilliant at – passionate ballsy guitar driven tunes containing more melodies in 3mins 41 seconds than most band achieve in their careers. Why I love this single so much is due to the quality of the B-Sides – “Laughing Man” shows the band taking it a little slower – still with beautiful melody intact and brilliant lyrics. Finally, “Tumbledown” would have been an A-Side of most bands – an absolute belter of a track – check out the dual harmonies and the guitar interplay – Brilliant Brilliant music – and that was the B-Side!! Judging from the Box Set Go downloads – The Rain album currently has received most favour out of everything so if you downloaded that album and don’t have these songs do yourself a favour…

Rain - A Taste Of Rain



Another all time classic record from one of the greatest Liverpool bands. This album should have been massive - if it had been released a few years later it might of been. Rain and Real People were at the fore front of the Liverpool scene in the early 90's - both boosted genius tunes backed with duel guitars/vocals not dissimiliar to a little band called The Beatles. Oasis came along a few years later and used the same blueprint for success however give this album a listen and then become seriously depressed that this is their only one - everyone I have ever given this too wants more of their stuff. If you like Beatles, Stones, Byrds, Roses, Real People, guitar driven meolodic pop/rock music then you will enjoy. In case you haven't noticed I bloody love this album to bits!! PS: If anyone has anymore of their unreleased stuff please get it to me.
