Hailing out of Sydney’s Northern beaches comes an assembly of close mates, young men affectionately known as The Kickouts, churning the waters with some insanely fresh and pure psychedelic blues rock.

Fresh and pure yet reminiscent of an old style that crosses greats from Zeppelin and Hendrix to Canned Heat and The Grateful Dead, utilising brilliant harp against heavy rockin blues to create a sound unique to their own.

The Kickouts with the release of their debut EP back in 2008 (then known as Radiophobia) quickly gained strong recognition around the country, touring up and down the East Coast, their recipe of laid back looks mixed with a massive old school sound had people rolling around the floor. Gaining coverage through Triple J, Fuel TV and the Quiksilver Pro, along with a stack of strong performances at various festivals and shows along side well known touring acts such as Ash Grunwald, The Fumes, Dallas Frasca, Butterfingers, Something with Numbers, Blue Juice and British India to name but a few.

Now it comes to stage two for The Kickouts with a new EP set for release later in the year. Sneak peaks of the album ready for release, reveal great depth in a band that is fast maturing towards the big stage.

Get ready for The Kickouts with a new release followed by an east coast tour later this year.

"Its rare these days to find a young, up and coming band that can play the blues – and really play the blues. But when they can, bands like The Black Keys are testament to how receptive the audience is – today’s rock fans want the blues…bad.

Introducing Aussie band The Kickouts….gritty guitar, solid beats and some great harmonica (what blues fan doesn’t appreciate a harmonica?) - but this is modern blues – far from down-trodden southern drawl, The Kickouts inject a solid dose of fast rock into the music mix with a vocalist who channels the late great 80s rock/pop icon, Michael Hutchence. A musical hybrid that touches a realm of sensesin short, The kickouts, will kick ass - so watch this space."

"The Kickouts have bottled the essence of rock and given it a good shake up in a psych/blues vein in their newly released self-titled EP which features five bootstompin’ rollicking, sing-along tunes. Their well-produced, tight and punchy songs are crafted with a natural ease and an infectious back-beat and their engaging live set is one not to be missed."
