Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read a little about me. My family is from Belfast Northern Ireland and although I lived there for a few years as a wee girl most of my memories come from growing up in a house filled with music and animals in Kingston Ontario Canada. I am the youngest of five children. That's right FIVE children! I still can't believe my Mum gave birth to five kids! It seems unimaginable to me now and what an amazing mum she was! Music was always a big part of our lives since my Dad played guitar and sang professionally before moving to Canada where he continued singing but eventually he became a professor at Queens University. I have the fondest memories as a wee girl of my dad playing guitar and singing me to sleep at night. My mother was also very musical, she played piano very well and also loved to sing. Sometimes I can still hear the very sweet sound of her unique vocal styling when it's very quiet and I'm just sitting thinking of her. What a voice! All the children in my family studied music and we all play the piano, but later, like my father I took to the guitar. his guitar! hehehe After getting a guitar for my birthday many years ago from an old boyfriend I began writing my own songs. Back then however I played for an audience of the furry kind. I love my animals! xo About ten years ago I moved out to Vancouver BC where I embarked on an acting career and I also started an open mic and began singing with a band. I loved it! It was such a rush playing in front of a live audience but the adventurous side got the best of me and I soon took off for South Korea where I spent the next two years of my life. While in Korea I taught English and was an actress on a TV show called Survival English. I met other musicians and we often jammed and performed in local bars. It was an incredible experience! When I arrived back in Canada I moved to Toronto where I continued my musical journey. However I soon got a job. a real job and music became a distant second to the amazing amount of money I was making. but soon money wasn't enough. I was aching to play music again but after work I was so tired all I wanted to do was to crawl into my bed. I was miserable! So I quit! I had to be true to myself. After I quit my job I took a much needed break and moved to Dominica Island. DI is the most untouched island in the Caribbean. My home was up a mountain nestled in the rain forest and I lived off the fruit and vegetables that grew wild in the forest. It was absolutely awesome! I loved writing songs while staring out at my beautiful view. From the upper level of my little house you could see the tops of all the glorious trees for miles and miles and the mountains were in the distance . To the left I could see a volcano that everyone said was suppose to erupt at any moment and the Caribbean Sea was straight ahead. It was unbelievable! Everyday a light mist fell over the entire Island and there was always an enormous rainbow arched over us afterward. Heaven couldn't get much better than that I'm sure! Unfortunately my guitar didn't last long due to the humidity. I was pretty bummed out but I just wrote lyrics and poetry instead. After seven months I returned to Canada and have been living in Toronto ever since. I'm going to be recording my CD in the next couple of months and can't wait to hear what you all have to say about it. I really appreciate all the interest, positive feedback and friendship. Take care and remember be kind to the animals, it would be a terrible world to live in without them. xoxo
