QUEEN GODIS : (pron: kween-god-iz)
IS an esteemed artist whose work is a dynamic fusion of Spoken Word, Hip Hop, and undeniable Soul.
Her celebrated debut album, POWER U! also highlights GodIs as producer, engineer and brilliant MC.
Her poetry has been featured live at HBO's Def Poetry Jam, Robert Townsend's Spoken and published in two major releases by Afro-European singing duo Les Nubians. Queen has also had spotlight segments on prestigious radio programs such as BBC, MTV radio, NPR, and WBAI.
Queen's compositions cross over into the world of musical theater and has been featured in major theaters and concert halls both off-broadway, in Europe, Africa and beyond!
ACTIVIST:
Unlike many artists, she is a multi-dimensional force of nature! With as much genius as talent, other credits include: performance art therapy, creative arts/ education consultant, guest lecturer, youth mentor & performance/ writing coach. Her behind-the-scenes work is featured in a special documentary series called Brave New Voices produced by HBO films and Simmons/ Lathan Media Group.
AUNTIE:
Queen GodIs is currently touring new material, facilitating performance workshops with professional and aspiring artists and working on her second album.
She is also creating content for THE ADVENTURES OF AUNTIE QUEEN - a new blog and multi-media project documenting high-lights from her travels and the interesting world of auntie-hood.
