Qman1 is a hobbyist, traveler, avid lover, artist, student, and producer in the realm of electronica, hip hop and experimental. His sound is made up of layered channels that consist of his inspirations (nature, creativity, L O V E) unusual PC built beats, but alas, its only one of his ventures, his love of being declared as Disc Jockey is also one of his interests.

Qman1, the alternate universe to the comlex mind of a young African-American man named Quinton A Kilgoe II, Born in 1988 on the East Coast of the USA. “Music has been part of my life since my childhood, my father was a great drummer and my family has a history of being involved in music, whether singing, rapping, song writing or creating…it wasn’t until my senior year of high school that I took an interest in creating music…the ability create something with ones own hands and then present that creation to a mass audience….its an incredible feeling.”

With a deep passion for anything art (Photography, Graffitti, Painting, Music, etc) Quinton has always been submersed in the field of art. “Ive always looked at things and appreciated them for what they are, I take from the world around me and create what I feel…I used to be very good at drawing, I also dabbled in documentaries and photography as well which I still do to this day”

Creativity comes from anyone and anything, his music really doesn’t express that…it transforms into something else – freedom of expression never should come at a price and his music does not suffer from his sometime complex thoughts and emotions

Qman1 is taking his music in a diffrent direction, but feels he still has a long way to go until he becomes a complete producer. He wants to make music that people can immerse themselves in, something totally original and very much different from the norm. He is a fearless person and has no time to feel as though his thoughts, experiences or his music will go misinterpreted. “Ive never backed down from anyone or anything…even if I knew what the outcome might be…this goes for all the critics out there that have heard my music…interestingly enough, I’ve got a fanbase…so that’s saying something” His ability to use his logic, along with his compassion and love for people, allow him to create the sounds he prefers…But hopes to change himself in some way, which will undoubtedly change the way he creates his music.

Quinton mainly works at various locations, but never has done a live show. His arsenal is very limited, armed with the latest version of FL Studio, a box of old 45s, a box of viynl along with some Numark 1600s and a Trigger Finger…one key ingredient is missing…a LAPTOP. Hoping to buy a laptop in the future, as well as a Korg MicroKontrol, Quinton thinks this will be all he needs to take the next step in his production sessions. During his recording sessions, Quinton utilizes his Trigger Finger as a MIDI for his Fruity Loops programs, from there, he uses sounds he added to his library and does anything at will to them, creating something either easy or very unorthodox. “I’m so limited to what I can and cannont do, especially when I don’t have the proper equipment and when I record, its not even at my own residence…but even so, I continue to create things that no else would dare or even want to create”

In 2009 Qman1, and maybe this was a coincedence, stumbled upon the indie record label called ‘A Future Without‘. The label holds an eclectic mix of sound from the raw notes of folk to the processed sounds of electro which Qman1 was more than happy be a part of. Since being with the label, Qman1 was featured on a mix in the Summer of 2010 created by the owner, Ross Tones, and also beforehand, worked on his debut EP titeld ‘Qman1: From There To Here’ in the Fall of 2009 (released on the 25th of October 2010). The label has also pushed in the direction of a publishing and synchronisation contract from a publisher called ‘Record Play’ which wil set Qman1 up with television synchronisations with the likes of ‘National Geographic’ and may open the doors to more music briefs and work in the future (Pending contract negotiations)

Hopefully this page will give you a little more incite into what Qman1 is trying to do, and hopefully you will encourage and follow him on his quest
