Proximo Sonido

Hailing from West Texas, Proximo Sonido, which began in the Summer of 2007 continues to rise to the top of the Latin music scene, with their one-of-a-kind progressive Tejano/Conjunto crowd pleasing style, in 2008 they released their debut album, “Por Primera Vez” which hailed them much praise and adoration from their loyal fans. The album featured standout tracks like “Se Que Te Quiero and "Liar," which got the band nominated for Crossover Song of The Year at the 2009 TTMA Tejano Music Awards. The band's sophomore album, “El Destino“, was released in late December of 2009 which joins singer and songwriter sensation Elias Barrera’s moving melodies with harmony driven rhythms to pump out some seriously inspired concoctions. After a brief calamity amongst a few original band members, Proximo Sonido joined forces with the likes of the professionally astounding Bassist Freddie Martinez, and the precisely rhythmatic Drummer/Percussionist Jimmy Garcia, alongside Proximo Sonido’s original Bajo Sexto player Joe Garza, who is considerably one of the best musicians to come out of West Texas, including front man Elias Barrera, who brings original flair and style with his Accordion and Vocal skills, although they are young in age, these four top notch musicians bring years of experience and professionalism to the forefront, which makes them an unstoppable force in the music scene, and an unrivaled group of performers, currently the band is working on their 3rd Album which will feature their unmatched and truly original flavor of cumbias and rancheras that will capture the soul, with musical influences such as Los Chuys, Hometown Boys, Esteban Jordan, Albert Zamora, Jaime y Los Chamacos and Intocable, Proximo Sonido is sure to bring their exciting and energetic “Next Sound” to the top.
