Protoculture, phoenixed from the ashes of the legendary L.A. outfit The Vegetable Shitheads, was founded in 1993 by band members Steve Abagon, Jonathan Burkes, Trevor Jayne . Unbound by the claustrophobic conventions of popular music and post modern instrumental composition, Protoculture throws caution to the wind and heeds the salty breathe of chaos to produce a rather acute melange of post-melodic hysteria. While some have likened it to a Star Wars cantina band-all-you-can-hear buffet, their breed of organized noise does compliment the blood to concrete palpitations of kamakaze skateboarders. Protoculture bred amongst many a L.A. influence, has played a barrage of shows over the years Steaming and burroughing in the underbelly of the Los Angeles underground, Protoculture works tirelesslylol. to complete the long awaited and critically acclaimed recording of their full length album "Time Stretch: The Lost Oddysey."
