[makina]

…is the mechanical underground power born in the siren-based trance world of Eastern Europe and continued living off of music at the shallow cold hardcore ness of the East coast of the states. "[makina]" was formed in the late 90's by two producer cousins ( performer Cem N. Garip & Zim A. N.) in the basements of New York. As years of producing flew by, in the year of 2000, they mixed each others work under the project name of "T. k' Nights" & released a self titled album. The album was a small hit in the local scene. However, although this little success brought lots of attention to the young producers, the T. k' Nights had to break apart for several reasons at the end of 2000.

The founder Cem, (aka. Jimmy) moved down to South Jersey for educational purposes and lived off of the music he prepared for different people for different reasons. After few months, he started combining different styles with the ghetto underground producers from South Jersey. Along with the programmers and bands of the local scene, Cem was involved with several sound engineers and DJ's to taste enough styles and noises to work on his later on his projects.

In 2005 Cem started to work under the project name of "machine" alone and this has raised the music reputation to his fellow fans. Project machine involved genres like, hard house, techno, electronica and a bit of experimental. In 2006 however, Cem started to produce songs that involved factory-based machinery sounds and hard electronica taste into his productions. A storm of rush threw the producer back into the club scenes of Turkey once again in the mid of 2006. The fan base of Cem in Turkey has also given the performer his producer name, [makina].

[makina], meaning "machine" in Turkish, was well-fit for the producer. Many say that his fans started to call him [makina] because of his machine-based sounds that threw his music into the name. His later demos produced at the end of '06 "The Rebellion", "Std" ,and "[virus]" , released under the influence of his followers with an independent cause to bring out the damaged sounds to clarify his needs and moods to the outer world.

These demos were critically claimed to be hard beat-electronica or "Hybrid" tracks that established nothing to [makina] till the present. The Hybrid scene was looking great for the producer and the styles that he combined over the years have showed their amazing face by coming up with a new genre, "fusion". The end of 06, [makina] has settled down to South Jersey once more to continue on what he left behind. Our hero met with 3 different genre based producers and worked on few songs and sent some demos to the outer radio stations in Turkey. This left a remarkable effect on one of his songs, "blow it". Nowadays, [makina] still works with new faces every time he gets the chance and still performs in undergrounds and house parties.

His style has been considered to revise over the years and has been an amazing success. Most of his fans can not quite understand the basic genre [makina] usually rises from. But all of them know that at the end of each track, where everything will come forth, will be a killer. The thought of this formula puts a huge "grin" on the producers face. The way his fans know his style of music makes him feel even better for him to surround the noise with sicker beats, breaks, slides, sirens and synths. He also states that he looks up to his future. Yet so, it is the only "belief" he relies on, he insists.

".a point where I turned my back on most of my fears. But with music, i turn my fears and hate to something people and i love, into music. No need to run away anymore." he continues, to let us know that the future will bring forth more happiness to him. [makina] has proved to his fans that he can combine some of the noises we hear everyday into break tabs and consult them with futuristic machinery sounds while you hear the screaming pleasure of hardcore ness cutting down the killer synths.

-[makina]-

".the concept of the man-machine sound producing process is not the only state of mind theory I believe in, but one thing I realized while producing some of the recent songs, is that there are actually some spirituality in human specification blending with the rough, uncaring noises coming from my machinery scene. As much as I enjoy working on my music alone, inviting another input to the producing helps bring out the unbreakable violence in peace. "

-[makina]-

-"The true musicians believe that objects in the world possess certain, but undefined sound that had been dulled by everyday use and utility. Producers however, are meant to reanimate this world of dormant sound, to bring their minds once again into close contact with the matter that made up their world with their style and music."
