Westword's Review

"From Unadorned's balls-out opener, "Escape From the Suburbs," all the way through to the disc's bonus cut, CCR's "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?," it's apparent these guys are well-schooled in the ways of '70s and '80s punk and garage rock. The garage-y "Repossession," one of the album's highlights, is a high-powered ode to Repo Man that kicks off and ends with samples from the film, while "Suipsycho" sounds like an outtake from its accompanying soundtrack. With some help from Module Overload's Jamie Hillyer, who recorded and mixed this Ramones-esque romp, and co-producer Kurt Ottaway from Overcasters, the band captured a lot of its frenetic stage energy on this recording. As Unadorned's title suggests, there aren't any frills to be had here, just raw power."

Punk Globe Review

"Denver, Colorado's premier punk band are PRIMASONIC, and they are currently kicking up a storm with their new album, titled UNADORNED. One listen to these boys reminds you of those halcyon days when Punk was Punk, and not watered down Green Day nonsense.

Formed in 2006, these noisy buggers turn it up loud. Vocalist SIN manages to make every word sound like his last, pure spite and venomyou can believe what he's shouting about is true because he believes it is and makes it known through his emotions.

The Musical unit consists of Guitarist KURT, who has a sound reminiscent of true old school punk, Drummer ZAC keeps a steady, tight, but powerful Beat, and Bassist CLYDE lays it downthese guys sounds like a tight force, and any self respecting punk rocker should check out the UNADORNED album.

The band were kind enough to share a sneak preview of the album with me, so here's what to expect.

ESCAPE FROM THE SUBURBS:

What an opening track, this reminds me so much of English punks 999, some quality guitar licks, very powerful and very 1977, although the intro reminds me of Chaotic Dischord in their prime. a hint of EDDIE AND THE HOT RODS, it makes a big change to hear a punk band that sound like a 1977 UK band instead of a sub genre like thrash punk. Anthemic choruses aplenty here, You'll be singing this all day after hearing it.

REPOSSESION:

A tempo change here, gutsy, lots of tom beats, i cant get over how much Vocalist Sin sounds like 999's Nick Cash, yet again it's catchy as hell, heavy as a kick in the balls.

MIND RAPE:

HEY HEY pre-choruses signal another power anthem, "YOUR MIND'S A WEAPON" shout the boys, and another great guitar solo, laid back yet soaring.

BITCH:

we all know girls like this, this sounds like a punk song, but strangely has a kind of sixties groove until the tribal drums and Dead Kennedys guitar style breaks in and then kicks back to that groove.

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THE RAIN:

This CCR cover, already punked up by The Ramones, appears as a hidden track on the CD, nowi LOVE punked up covers of classics, and these boys have created their own take on the song, it's great, and should be played to death!

All in all, the UNADORNED album should be bought, unwrapped and played extremely loudly. These guys have the songs and the sound, and deserve to get lots of recognition for this. Keep it up, Lads!

Our version of the AC/DC classic "Squealer" together with "Bitch". Low budget/high alcohol content!.

Unofficial music video for "Repossession" from our new album. Extra special PrimaLove to our buddy Dutch for the skills.

Westword Critics Choice (9/25-10/01 '08)

"Many punk-rock purveyors of musical mayhem spout lyrics that make them sound like a bunch of idiots who are only in it to get drunk and maybe score with some equally soused groupies. There's nothing dangerous about a buffoon that advertises his or her own stupidity in song. Primasonic (due Saturday, September 27, at the Larimer Lounge) may get drunk and otherwise carouse — or not — but at least the songs reveal that its members haven't forgotten that punk and rock music in general are about upsetting the status quo. Some do that by pushing the boundaries of what music can be, and some do it by performing music like it still means something to rock without all the edges smoothed off. This band is in the latter category, and it sure doesn't apologize for speaking unpopular truths." - Tom Murphy, Westword

"Exposing the thin line between punk and rock 'n roll." - The Onion

".considerable energy and fanatical exactitude." - Westword

"Primasonic has their roots firmly planted in Rock n' Roll but with plenty of Punk attitude." - Upstarter

"Musically they can best be described as AC/DC meets the New Bomb Turks and Plimsouls, though I've had friends tell me that they remind them of everyone from The Stooges to The Who on speed." - AbsolutePunk.net

"I'd say that they play a cool mix of retro 70's rock mixed with some 60's garage fuzz and some good old classic punk rock. But the attitude is 100% PUNK rock." - '77 Rocks

"this band has the charisma, chops, attitude, and (most importantly) songs which will undoubtedly result in them becoming the greatest rock 'n roll export that the 303 has cultured in quite some time." - 9News.com

"some of the best music I've encountered so far since doing this site. It's like the Ramones, the Reverand Horton Heat and The Rolling Stones got in bed, fooled around, couldn't remember it the next morning, and 9 months later had a bouncing bundle of joy!" - - Colorado Local Music

"Raw, rough, and rocking for sure!" - - Westword Backbeat Blog

"Yes, these guys rock with a capital "R". - Westword Backbeat Blog

"These four guys can actually write hooky, memorable, punk anthems. But they also infuse liberal doses of classic rock and roll in the mix and, trust me, you will most definitely walk out of their show humming at least one of their many future classics." - Associated Content
