"Does Miami rock? Apparently, it does.
I ran into the members of Price, a South Florida retro-rock act at the intersection of San Jacinto and 6th Street, lobbying hard for an audience for the group's 8 p.m. showcase at Latitude 30. Since I figured most of the music out of Miami is shaded in pastel or designed for raves, I checked out the band's 3-minute songs. The group's exuberant songs are compact, built on catchy melodies that recall the Beatles in Revolver mode. Happily, the band doesn't monkey much with its sound"
-Jim Abbott, Orlando Sentinel (South By Southwest Article)
"Named for the brothers' great-grandmother, Price pays tribute to people of the past, especially to the musicians of the Sixties and Seventies, an era Chris considers 'the best era of music.'
.the band's sound comes from a variety of influences — notably the Beatles, with Jimi Hendrix guitars, Randy Newman keys, and Beach Boys background vocals."
- Jake Nelson, Miami New Times
PRICE shares a love for the classic records of the 60's and 70's by artists as diverse as Stevie Wonder, Can, Gilberto Gil, Nick Drake, and Michael Jackson. The goal with this project is to try and fit all of those influences into one package. PRICE is currently based out of Los Angeles. The band consists of brothers Chris, Mikey & Corey and drummer Charles Streeter. They recently finished recording their debut album here in California with producer Tony Berg (Aimee Mann, Phantom Planet, Michael Penn, Ted Hawkins).
