The origins of POWND can be traced back to 1996, when the band was formed by brothers Michael and Ronnie Duncan. In 1998, the band released their debut CD simply entitled POWND, and for the next few years, the band toured and promoted the project relentlessly, gaining new fans at every stop and picking up guitarist Rick Sargent along the way.
Over the next several years, band continued to spread the POWND message, and in the process, found time in their touring schedule to record the band's second release, Circle Of Power. The project was self-released in 2003 and a few years later, the band attracted the attention of Lance King at Nightmare Records, who immediately signed POWND to a contract with the label. In 2007, Circle Of Power was remixed, repackaged, and finally released on Nightmare Records.
In the ensuing years, the band promoted Circle Of Power by playing festivals like Rocklahoma and touring with Iced Earth, Nevermore and Rob Halford, to name a few. In 2009, POWND went back into the studio with Engineer/Producer Curran Murphy and recorded their third CD, Part Of The Black.
In 2010, bassist Steve Nall and drummer Roger Ramos joined the band, and this latest version of POWND immediately began playing club dates and festivals in preparation for the release of Part Of The Black on Nightmare Records in 2012.
