Sherard Dixon, aka Posta, was raised in Harlem USA with older brother (DaJuan Hodges) by parents, Pamela & Joseph Dixon. Mother was an Executive Assistant, and Father was a Carpenter. As a child, Sherard was very quiet and shy in his younger years. As the family would dance and sing along to songs, he would just sit back and watch. By the age of 10, he came out of his shell, standing in front of the mirror with a hairbrush as a microphone, making up lines and rapping. To name a few, he was inspired by the Notorious BIG and Jay Z. Everyone around him was in a state of shock to see how this very shy and quiet kid had tremendous potential of becoming a rap artist. Anyone who really knew Sherard, is still shock to see how he turns into a different person when he is delivering his lines.

By the age of 20, he went on the televised Queen Latifah Talent Search and won in 1999 and 2000.

In 2001, he went on 106th & Park Freestyle Friday’s televised show on BET and won 8 consecutive weeks, becoming the first to be retired from the segment. The third week into his winnings, there was a bidding war going on as to whom he should sign with. Master P was the first to offer him a record deal on television. Next thing you know, Timberland; Jermaine Dupri; Snoop Dogg; P-Diddy and Def Jam were trying to sign him. In December 2001, Cudda (Country) Luv, CEO of Fo Reel Entertainment was the one that Sherard went with, landing him to be label-mates with Nelly. In addition to that, he secured a Publishing Deal with EMI, which opened the door to work with BBD and RL from NEXT. Also, his song “It’s Okay,” was on the XXX Movie Soundtrack. Although this was ALL WELL AND GOOD, tragedy struck and he lost his only sibling in the World Trade Center on 9/11.

In 2002, he begins to record his album entitled “True Story,” which was under Fo Reel Entertainment/Universal. The features were: Brandy; Nelly; Pharell; Murphy Lee, and Amarie. He then went on tour with Nelly, and was the headliner on the And1 Basketball Tour. Unfortunately, Universal weren’t able to get the samples cleared on the records they chose for singles. This did not discourage or stop him. He knew that his brother would have wanted him to continue on with his dream, and went on and released numerous mixtapes.

In 2004… Rock In The Road. He was diagnosed on Father’s Day with Testicular Cancer. With a grim diagnosis, he was immediately hospitalized and had emergency surgery to remove his left testicle. He underwent five months of chemo, and a few more surgeries following. Through it all, during his chemo treatments, his son, (D’Sani DaJuan) was born.

In 2005, he decided to change his name from Postaboy to Posta, and began to work on his album “Live From The ER.” When he completed recording the album, he signed a record deal with Floyd Mayweather (Philty Rich Records) in 2006, which did not work out. He then had the opportunity to sign with Ne-Yo (Compound); this also did not work out due to their distribution not being secured.

At present, Sherard is CANCER FREE; 100% healthy and doing well. He is back a free agent and looking to acquire a record deal to continue on with his talent as a Hip-Hop Rap Artist, and also share his story with the world, as a motivational speaker at colleges and events, to spread the word on awareness of Testicular Cancer.
