Young Pooh Bear was born July 7, 1989 in Raleigh NC. As a little boy he would always run to the television whenever Winnie the Pooh would come on, and sing the song. His family took notice and began to call him Pooh Bear, the name obviously stuck. When Pooh Bear was 13 years old he realized that he could really sing and had real talent. At 15 years old Pooh Bear had his first real performance at the Foxy 99 FM. Community Cookout in Lumberton, NC. Many opportunities followed and then he auditioned for the 3rd season of American Idol. He made it to the 2nd round before leaving due to illness. In Pooh Bear's career he has accomplished so many things. He has opened up for artists like Dougie Fresh, Jon B, Lloyd, Mario, Plies, Dem Franchise Boys, VIC, Yung Berg, Trey Songz, Soulja Boy, Tank, Keisha Cole, Jasmine Sullivan, Jennifer Hudson, Jamie Foxx, and many more. He hopes to one day go on his own tour and give other aspiring artists the opportunity to open up for him. In March 2008 he performed on Showtime at The Apollo and won the R&B competition. Then in Feb 2009 he performed on B.E.T 106 and Park and won the R&B competition. He has performed in front of crowds of 20,000 or better and rocked it.When asked what he wanted to accomplish in his career the artist replied, "Basically, what I want to do is be the first artist to take RnB back to what it used to be. Old fashioned love songs without all the sexual inuendos. I want to accomplish something that no other young RnB artist has ever accomplished, and thats come out with true RnB hits consistently while staying true to myself and my fans. I want to be young, black entrepreneur."

In 2009 Pooh Bear was nominated four times for Best Male R&B Artist of the Year at the Queen City Awards, SMES Awards, Independent Artist Awards and the Carolina Music Awards. His smash hit "WANNA KNOW YOU" is now playing on three major radio stations such as WQOK 97.5, WZFX 99.1, WMNX 97.3 and WPEG 97.9. Young Pooh Bear is the future of R&B.
