From young punk to musical genius
For many, still a secret to discover, Daniel is a cult musician on international stages who took his place in musical history by creating a wide variety of musical projects with different styles and at a very young when he formed the controversial punk group LOS PINOCHET BOYS, a legendary Chilean band.
LOS PINOCHET BOYS, has been acknowledged and honored in various books and documentaries. Due to their irreverent style and wild and explosive performances, they were unofficially forced to leave the country by the Chilean military regime.
Daniel travelled through Brazil, Argentina, USA, Madrid, London, Amsterdam, Berlin and Hamburg, which resulted in a new band: NIÑOS CON BOMBAS. The band had outstanding tours throughout the USA, South America and Europe. In Germany, they are particularly known for their successful concerts as the supporting band for Einstürzende Neubauten. In 1995, NIÑOS CON BOMBAS received the John Lennon Talent Award (JLTA).
Since 2000, Daniel performs and produces under the name POLVOROSA. Many of his songs can be heard in Fatih Akin's films such as "Short Sharp Shock / Kurz und Schmerzlos" (1998), "In July" / "Im Juli" (2000) and his multi-award winning film "Head On / Gegen die Wand". In 2005, Daniel released POLVOROSA's album Radical Car Dance.
DISPARO is Daniel's first solo album containing nine unpublished tracks and an updated cover version of Botellas contra el pavimento as a tribute to LOS PINOCHET BOYS.
An astonishing electric guitar accompanied by French percussionist, Didier Roch, with congas and djembe, and above all the exceptional, powerful and soulful voice of Daniel create a progressive, new and exciting sound: Latin-Soul, Latin-Rock, Latin-R&B at its best. Spanish never sounded so funky!
With DISPARO Daniel pays homage to black rooted music of the three Americas, that perfectly shows his profound love and respect for Africa.
From R&B to Caribbean Son, from Reggae to Afro-Peruvian 6/8, Mambo and Bolero. Didier Roch added djembes to the congas to emphasize the return to the African spirit, launching the music as a rocket from a possible past to an absolutely unexpected future. The result: Extraplanetary good music.
