Politicalamity, unpronounceable name at first reading, have just published their first homonymous album (Ed. Chernobil Fireworks, 2006), thanks to the music competition grant "Beques per a músics 2005". This album is the result of two years of life as a band, during which they have had collaborations from Nacho Lesko, Didier Richard and Pau Manté.
Politicalamity run away from the Aristotelian formalisms and from the copyright standards. Funk, rock, samba and ballades coexist in their songs. The rhythmical variation is complemented with a polyglotism that opens the doors not only to Spanish but also to French, English, Italian and Portuguese languages.
The group was created at the end of 2004 by members of other bands -Explosión Bikini, Plastelina Cowboys and Soviet Dogs in the Space-, with a typical assembly of drums, bass, guitar and vocals, making a crude sound that bites in live shows. Between a 70's-like rock attitude and the flexible funk from the 90's, songs have an eclectical temperament. Their music is simply surprising and capable of giving you a lift from the Moon to Pluto in just a single beat.
Politicalamity has offered several concerts in different clubs and festivals such as: Razzmatazz, Salamandra, Clap, Festinoval, Empordà Roig, Emergenza…
Politicalamity, nombre impronunciable en una primera lectura, acaba de publicar su primer álbum homónimo (Ed. Chernobil Fireworks, 2006), que ve la luz gracias al concurso de "Beques per a músics 2005", convocado por el Casal Popular de Música de Matarò.
Esta torta musical, que ha contado con la corpulenta colaboración de Nacho Lesko, Didier Richard y Pau Manté, es el resultado de dos años de existencia como formación.
Politicalamity huye de los formalismos aristotélicos y del copyright. En sus canciones conviven el funk, el rock, la samba de cadera rota y la balada tóxica. La variedad rítmica se complementa con un poliglotismo que abre las puertas no sólo al castellano, sino también al francés y al inglés, al italiano y al portugués de andar por casa.
Este grupo formado a finales del 2004 por miembros residuales de las bandas Explosión Bikini, Plastelina Cowboys y Soviet Dogs in the Space se basa en una formación clásica de batería, bajo, guitarra y voz configurando un sonido crudo y con garra en el directo. A caballo entre la actitud rock de los 70's y el funk elástico de los 90's se gestan temas de complexión ecléptica, te llevan de la Luna a Plutón en tan solo un compás.
Politicalamity ha paseado sus cuerpecitos por diversas salas y festivales tales como Razzmatazz, Salamandra, Clap, Festinoval, Empordà Roig y Emergenza.
