My name is Robert Fraser, I am a writer, musician, and a student of bushcraft. I have two full length books of poetry, the first is published by Cornerstone Book Publishers: Poems for the Short-Term Memory, which was released in Spring of 2007, and the upcoming Mountains the Size of My Fist!, available in 2010, Featuring an Introduction by Douglas I. Thompson, a great writer of Poetry and Fiction. Selected poems from each book are available to read in my blogs.

I had the privilege of performing my poetry and music for two years in the band hobo/monk, and other than writing, I work like everyone else, and study the Native American ways of living off the land. If you would like to know any more - feel free to ask.

- Robert Fraser

"The work contained in this collection is contemplative, thought provoking, and illuminating. Fraser's poems touch on a wide array of subjects, from the political musings of "New Orleans Rubble," in which a man surveys the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina—and the apathy of the U.S. government some four years later, to the terrible cost of modern warfare in "Gone to Afghanistan." Fraser explores the exacting toll of infidelity in poems such as, "So Wrong," and "Millionaire Wives," and captures the gritty realism of the streets in "Cleveland," and the two-part, "In the Alley." In the epic, "Soul Road," Fraser takes us on a visceral tour of his brush with death at the age of seventeen. None of the rigid form and condescending tones of those academic poets can be found here. Fraser’s words speak to the ordinary men and women of our time."

Mountains the Size of My Fist! Coming Early 2010!

"Robert Fraser's "Poems for the Short-Term Memory unveils the very thread-work of modern American life with a keen sense of current social conflicts and political agendas. These thrifted wisdoms display rhythm beat, and demand an awareness of truth and values achieved through struggle and personal enlightenment."
