Biography of Poeticbarz

Poetic grew up in South London, Camberwell/Brixton (Crawford estate), he moved to Thornton Heath a few months ago. His passion for music started growing from a young age, considering he had strong influences from the older youths on his block.his obsession grew. It soon got to a point where music was forever playing in his council estate bedroom.whether it was choice fm or pirate radio it had to be played. Eventually his CD collection started to grow and his own taste started to develop, artists such as Biggie, 2pac and Nas made their way into his musical delight.

Music followed him throughout the years, his views started to broaden along with his taste. He began to show attention to Gospel, Soul R&B and garage music, his knowledge expanded and he learnt a lot about the black music culture.

Throughout his late secondary school years he started to recognise local emcees attempting to build their own legacies, this drew his attention gradually. In his last year of secondary school (St Thomas the Apostle, Peckham) he started to develop himself as an artist through playground battles and punch-line freestyles. A few of his school friends formed a garage group named NASTY RESULTS, he continuously "clashed" with their artists. In due course, they became closer friends and respected each other as artists. Members from NASTY RESULTS decided to introduce poetic to SFR studio on Lambeth road.this was the start of his own ghetto legacy.

During the summer of 2005 he began to increase his artistic values. He left behind his freestyles and battle bars and targeted bigger objectives such as true song writing. He had a lot to learn. The producer Richie Rich from SFR studio began to work with him and trained him as an artist. He met various artists along the way and received a lot of guidance. Finally he recorded his first song at the age of 16, titled "broken babies".

POETIC says:"i see the music scene from nuff different perspectivez, ive got alot to prove to the UK rap scene i just need my voice to be heard. Music is a strong influence to the people in my community. From what i see its one of the most successful businesses for yutes of the ghetto. I feel kina heartbroken to see so much power go to waste. Theres nuff soundboys with poor creativity and too many materialistic bars.people outside our community are gettin the wrong image, i want to prove dat theres a spiritual & moral side to the game.but keeping the same twist of the ghetto. Bwoi.im only 16 reaching 17 but i got alot of planz 4 the future, including my music. But being so young gives me nuff obstacles. I got college n dat, and i still wana go university. You see.the joke is, i never wanted to spit bars until certain mandem inspired me. Plus i cud see nuff weakness in artists dat werent my brejins, it made me clock dat i got a chance. After a cuple clashes man dropped a few dubz.b4 i knew it, positive feedback gave me all that i need to become poeticbarz"
