A little older and much wiser, Poca The Papergirl is keeping things moving in her life as an MC. No longer holding to her once aspiring hoop dream, the Bronx native’s current endeavor to be “one of the best to pick up a mic” is quickly moving her into a league of her own. Much has changed since The Papergirl’s last mixtape, Where Poc Been? with the MC now being in a state of rebirth. From attaining a bachelor’s degree in business management from Morgan State University to locking her once straight hair, both actions show commitment representative of her spiritual and artistic growth. Though she has yet to find her niche in the business world, Poca believes strongly in fate and that her struggles are not in vain, with her music being a ray of hope for those walking on her same path. Poca consistently conveys her passion for hip-hop through her life story and lyrics. Believing that millions of women can relate to the messages in songs like “Misunderstood” and “The Come Up”, fans are given insight into where Poca has been and is now going. Having been featured in magazines and websites such as On Wax Magazine, Herfection, RunandEatNYC.com, and Global Grind and also working with artists such as Jesse Boykins III and New York’s Underground Kingpin, Skyzoo, Poca’s quintessential talent never overshadows her respect of the “humble grind”. Nikes laced up, Polo shirt brushed off, Poca The Papergirl is ready to lead the movement for "papergirls" everywhere. Ask who she is and Poca simply replies, "The Comeback Kid! Back like I never left. Ahahahaha!”
