What started in the early 1990s as a way of avoiding signing to a major label has basically become what it set out to avoid. Typical. Although we're still really, really nice, we promise - and don't screw anyone over, like those enormous corporate labels are known to. We're not even a corporation actually, so there you go. We are, in fact, just a bunch of musicians who figured out how to own their own record company, and not have to answer to anyone in a suit somewhere who doesn't understand music. We didn't go to business school and start a record company in the hopes of striking it rich. We do this because we love what we do, and believe in the work we do. It's that simple. All we strive to do is bring you, the music lover, the best, most innovative, most exciting music we possibly can, without outrageous recording budgets and advertizing expenses - although it would be nice if we had those too and could still be true to our values, our mission and our ethics - but these will always come first. Maybe we will have that perfect world soon which will allow us to have both.
