KUE-OLOGY: THE NEW GENRE
Who is Kue B? Kue B is a true student of the entire conglomeration known as
music from Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae and Dancehall to Gospel, Jazz, Blues and
Country. Since the age of five, Kue has been a willing student to every genre of
music. Growing up in North Carolina, he used music as a remedy to all of the
hurts and disappointments life tossed his way.
Kue B started out in church, playing drums for his choir. He also possessed a
natural vocal ability, which he inherited from his family. Kue began writing
songs at the age of seven, but did not let anyone know for fear of ridicule. His
vivid imagination would literally make the words on the page come to life, so he
excelled in creative writing contests. In high school, he began to pursue his
dream of becoming a singer/producer. Kue B began to record songs at The
House of Sound Studios, owned by his uncle, DJ Scott LaKrush. He put together
a band and they recorded a CD.
Kue B decided to send the CD to a well-known record label. The label liked
the demo so much, they gave it to one of their artists on the label, and used it
for the artists album. Kue was crushed and learned his first brutal lesson in the
music industry. For a while, he tried to avoid making music or being around
anyone in the industry. That was impossible. Music was his passion, his dream.
In 2003, Kue B decided that North Carolina was not the place for his dream to
come to fruition. He wanted to direct all of his energy into producing music.
Kue B packed everything he owned into his truck and moved to the new music mecca
of the south, Atlanta. He worked several jobs to support himself, and created
Platinum Tracks on Deck Productions. From his in-home studio, Kue decided to
give the youth in his neighborhood a positive alternative to street life. Kue B opened his studio
to the future producers, singers, rappers and poets out of the hood. He teaches them how to make demos, beats, and other aspects of recording music. Kue B has already begun to give back to the community, while he waits for his big break.
Although it has been a struggle for Kue B, he refuses to stop. His dream includes becoming a world-renown music producer, an entrepreneur, and a philanthropist. Kue wants to build a performing arts academy for youth of all different nationalities and backgrounds. Kue plans on changing the entire music world and bringing some great up and coming
talent with him. A deeply spiritual man, Kue B will succeed.
