BIOGRAPHY:



Dario was born on the 3th January 1979 in Palermo (Italy).

He learnt to play guitar at the age of seven years.

After some lessons with Toti Basso and Giuseppe Bellanca , two very talented classical guitarplayers, he excelled all the exams for the "Vincenzo Bellini" music school in Palermo. Here he studied classical guitar and musical theory for two years. In the meanwhile Dario together with his brothers Max and Alex formed the "Dragon's Breath" , a melodic Hard-rock band with grunge and punk influences. They played many live shows around their country and recorded two demos (Arcana and Notturna).

In 1997 Dario Knew Claudio Diprima (Thy Majestie's drummer). They formed the "Cherry bombz" the first street-glam rock band in Palermo. During this period Dario began to study the art of singing. The love for the discipline drove him to take part to some clinics of Elizabeth Sabine (singing-teacher of many rockstars like Axl Rose, Dave Mustaine, Ron Keel, Love Hate ecc.).

In 1998 he joined the band "Thy Majestie" .

Dario adapted his vocal style very soon to the sound of the power metal band. The original and clear voice of Dario gave to the music of Thy Majestie the feeling of the AOR and the power of heavy metal. In october 2003, after two albums ("The Lasting Power" and "hastings 1066") and one Ep named "Echoes of war", Dario left this band to dedicate all his talent into another porject called PLATENS. A new enthusiastic musical journey where he plays all the instruments. The debut album "Between Two Horizons" was released in october 2004 by Frontiers records, the most important Hard Rock Label around Europe. Today Dario is composing new material for the PLATENS' second album and recording the debut of VIOLET SUN, a new gothic power metal act from Italy led by Alessandra Amata as soprano, Alex Grillo on Drum, Massimo Grillo on bass guitar and obvioulsy Dario as singer, guitar and keayboard player.

He sings in the band "RESET" too, one of the best live band around Sicily.
