Éramos como desconocidos que jugaban a algo extraño, nuevo,
insólito. en medio de la contradicción. No sabíamos cómo ni por qué, pero
ahí estábamos, frente a frente sin saber que meses después nuestro destino sería
formar parte de la escena electrónica mexicana. Era 1996 y teníamos que
llamarnos de algún modo y el nombre fue ContradicciónBajo el influjo del
sonido Depeche Mode, José M. Deloya (vocales) y Antonio Aviña (teclados y
sintetizadores) se dan a la tarea de integrar un proyecto que les permitiese
sacar a la luz sus inquietudes musicales inspiradas además de DM, en la armonía
de bandas europeas como Cetu-Javu, Camouflage y en forma más reciente T.O.Y
Basados en experiencias propias y ajenas, tanto de relaciones de amor frustrado,
como de introspección entorno a conceptos tan ambiguos como la libertad. Para
1998, ahora ya con el nombre de Planet Pop, los músicos deciden lanzarse a la
aventura y debutan con mucha expectación y buena aceptación en el ambiente
electrónico underground de la Ciudad de México, situación ésta que los llevó a
tener un año 1999 pleno de presentaciones en diferentes foros del DF. Luego de
un retiro momentáneo de parte de ambos integrantes de la banda, deciden volver
en el 2001 cuando graban su primer sencillo Visiones y en donde el proyecto
muestra madurez en su composición armónica y una ligera influencia de future
pop. El 2002 es un año importante para su evolución artística, pues se integra a
la banda Ramsés M.Con la intención de dar al synthpop de Planet Pop, las
secuencias y programas que lo proyectan hacia un sonido más bailable y actual,
mismo que quedaría plasmado en el E.P. E-volution. Motivados por la buena
aceptación que tuvo este material, nuevamente el trío se vuelve a recluir en los
estudios para dar forma al álbum Infected, mismo que deciden grabarlo también en
inglés. Con este disco, Planet Pop volvió a encontrar un número cada vez mayor
de gente interesada en escuchar sus estructuras musicales. Como próximas metas
para Planet Pop se encuentra en la producción de un nuevo álbum, nuevamente en
español, que ponga de manifiesto lo técnicamente aprendido en todos estos años y
más aún, refleje toda esa fuerza que el grupo sencillamente ya no puede contener
más.
Planet cuenta ya con tres producciones independientes:

We were like strangers that were playing something strange,
new, unusualin the middle of the contradiction We didnt know how or why, but
there we were, face to face without knowing that months later our destiny was
going to be part of the Mexican electronic scene. It was 1996 and we had to call
ourselves in some way and that name was Contradiccion Under the influence of
Depeche Mode, Jose M. Deloya (vocals) and Antonio Aviña (keyboards and synths)
assigning themselves the work of creating a project that would let them bring
out their musical ideas inspired besides DM, in the harmony of European bands
such as Cetu-Javu, Camouflage and more recently T.O.Y. Inspired in their own and
others experiences, such as frustrated love affairs, as of introspection about
concepts so ambiguous as freedom. By the year 1998, now with the name Planet
Pop, the musicians decide to journey into the adventure and debut with a lot of
expectation and good acceptance in the underground electronic scene of the city
of Mexico, this situation took them to have a 1999 filled with live shows in
different forums of DF. After a momentarily retirement of both musicians of the
band, they decide to return in the year 2001, when they record their first
single, Visiones and where they showed maturity in their harmonic composition
and a light influence of future pop. 2002 is an important year for their
artistic evolution, since Ramses M joins the band, with the intention of giving
the synthpop of Planet Pops sound the sequences and programming that will guide
them into a more danceable and actual sound, the same that will ended up moulded
on their EP E-Volucion. Motivated by the good acceptance that this production
had, the trio goes back to the studio again in order to give shape to Infected
that was recorded in English. With this album Planet Pop rediscovered every time
a bigger number of people interested in listening their musical structures.
Among their new goals is the production of a new album, in Spanish again, that
will show all the technically learned through all this years, and whats more,
that will reflect all the strength that the group simply couldnt contain no
more. Planet counts with three independent productions: Visiones (single), Dec.
