Planet Clique is a UK-based boutique independent record label founded in 2005, originally intended for releasing output by UK production/remix team Manhattan Clique/MHC, who have remixed a wide variety of artists including Stereophonics, Goldfrapp and The Human League. One half of MHC - Philip Larsen - won a Grammy award in 2004 for his work with Kylie Minogue, while more recently MHC have enjoyed a Number One in France with their production of Moby's 'Slipping Away' with Mylene Farmer. They also produced Erasure frontman Andy Bell's acclaimed debut album 'Electric Blue', and are currently A&Ring a remix album for Universal's Soft Cell, released late 2008.

Further such releases have inspired the label to expand, including a series of remix EPs for The B-52's, and as of 2008, we are actively signing new acts and one-off releases to the label.

Forthcoming/current projects include single/album releases by SuperJupiter, Nono ft Huski, Red Blooded Women and many more.

Our first album release, available now, is a compilation entitled ‘Robopop – The Return’. It features around 17 current and upcoming electro pop artists including Goldfrapp, Tiga, The Modern, Performance & Robots In Disguise. The album is a 2 CD set, the first featuring original versions, the second 12” versions, mixed together by Manhattan Clique. The second volume, now entitled 'Electro, not Retro' will be released late 2008.

We are also planning a Manhattan Clique artist album for 2009, featuring artists that Manhattan Clique have collaborated with in the last 5 years. Watch this space!

We also have an artist management arm, managing Norway's SuperJupiter and leading German remix/production team Ortega & Gold

Sassy UK Electro trio Rochelle set the pace for 2009 with their second single ‘Chin Up’ set for release via Planet Clique Recordings on April 13th

Sassy UK Electro trio Rochelle set the pace for 2009 with their second single ‘Chin Up’ set for release via Planet Clique Recordings on April 13th

Since the late 2008 release of their club friendly – Norman Cook endorsed limited edition debut single - ‘Fer De Lance’, which garnered them much critical acclaim, a major Channel 4 TV performance and plays from key tastemakers at Radio 1, XFM and NME tv, Rochelle have been hard at work with leading electro production and remix duo Manhattan Clique on the follow up cut.

The first fruit of the weeks spent in the Manhattan Clique seaside studios is ‘Chin Up’, a tune that’s already had it’s Radio One debut via the Andy George remix on Pete Tong’s ‘In New Music We Trust’ show. And with two other Radio One plays following in swift succession, Rochelle are fast becoming the one to watch on blogspots in the know. A second remix by one half of Partyshank and hot as shit remixer of the moment A1 Bassline is about to hit the street and is sure to cause a ruckus on dancefloors everywhere.

Having worked with a wide array of artists including Mirwais, Moby, Goldfrapp, Fischerspooner, Ida Maria and Katy Perry, plus the small matter of winning a Grammy for work with Kylie, Manhattan Clique craft the ultimate blend of pop perfection and filthy electro stylings that sum up Rochelle’s perfect sound. Delivering beautifully crafted, hook laden pop songs with a dirty electronic edge that make you wish you’d been a teenager in a John Hughes Movie, Rochelle are mapping out the future of British pop music with a twist.

To add visual fuel to the fire, Rochelle persuaded party pals and a-list production company Partizan Films to make the video clip to accompany ‘Chin Up’. Having made some of the best videos the international music scene has ever witnessed – including The White Stripes’ ‘Seven Nation Army’ and ‘Fell In Love With A Girl’ - Partizan have produced a visually and creatively stunning clip that takes Rochelle and ‘Chin Up’ to the next level.

As a three piece, Rochelle deliver a merry-go-round of musical prowess when it comes to their live performances. With drums, guitars, keyboards (and even a Keytar when the setlist and stage permits), percussion and vocals coming from all three members of the band, live shows have been exciting crowds at club nights, venues and festivals across the UK since the beginning of 2008 – and 2009 looks like it’s shaping up to be even more hectic for Rochelle with festival offers and club shows coming in thick and fast.

ALL GIRL TRIO SET TO BURN UP THE UNDERGROUND

RED BLOODED WOMEN

‘YOU MADE YOUR BED EP’ Vinyl and Digital Release: August 24th 2008 via Planet Clique

When you think of modern day girl bands, you probably think of denim miniskirts, cheap hairspray and fake tan. Now, imagine three powerful confident young women more likely to listen to Kraftwerk than Atomic Kitten, influenced by everything from Abba and The Carpenters through to Daft Punk and Depeche Mode. Imagine three young women equally obsessed with thrilling modern pop music coming from the likes of Rihanna, Justin Timberlake and The Ting Tings, as they are with 80’s electro.

Introducing Red Blooded Women, an electro collective of feisty girls who pull no punches with their raw sound and gritty visuals. After months of hiding away in several London studios writing with some of the industries most exciting up and comings, the girls now unleash their limited edition taster EP ‘You Made Your Bed’ on Monday August 24th.

Acting as a taster of what the future holds, the EP will be available for download on the uber-cool electro label Planet Clique alongside a physical release of limited edition red vinyl EPs, allowing pop aficionados the chance to finally get their hands on some RBW sounds.

The EP features two effervescent, electro laced pop tracks equally at home on pop playlists as they are on club dancefloors; ‘You Made You Bed’ and ‘4 2Nite’, alongside mixes of ‘You Made Your Bed’ by Rochelle and Dreamtrak.

Liz from the band says “Just because we’re a girl group, a pop group as it were, we don’t see why we can’t do something a little different. Music that is a little bit awkward and edgy. People kept telling us that we couldn’t do it, but the thing is, we’re stubborn girls - every time someone used the word can’t, we just tried that bit harder. We want to change people’s perceptions of what British pop can be'

“You Made Your Bed' is one of several very good songs by new girlband Red Blooded Women. It's something of a novelty to have one come along which bucks the trend of the independent girlband world” - Popjustice.com

“A DIY trio of gals that make the music they love - pristine dance floor pop calculated to perfection - without all of the svengalis and faux artistry” - xclaim.ca

Soft Cell - Torch 2007 Remixes

Available on black vinyl only, and limited to one strictly limited DJ-only pressing, the 12" contains extended vocal and dub mixes of Torch by Planet Clique's very own MHC.

Nono ft Huski - Three More Days

MHC and Samy Deep Remixes

'Three More Days' by Nono ft Huski will receive a full CD/digital release in early 2008, with a video and brand new remixes. This package of mixes by MHC and Samy Deep recently reached 8 in the UK club chart, and this DJ promo-only white label is available in very limited quantities.

Nono is the brainchild of French producer Samy Deep, who was behind last year's King Dom 'Any Chance To Win' release on Apollo/Universal, a release much championed by Radio 1's Pete Tong. Huski are an upcoming UK electro pop band, featuring the enigmatic Melanie Garside on vocals.
