The insanity known as The Pistol Whippers formed in early 1998 after a night of binge drinking at a local watering hole in Charleston, WV. The four members had enough of the lousy local music scene and decided to form a high-energy hillbilly garage punk band. Having no instruments and nowhere to practice, they happened upon an old cave in the woods surrounding Campbell's Creek, WV. After visiting several pawn shops and used music dealers, they had gathered up enough instruments to outfit the band. The equipment was then moved into the cave, and the young lads began to play. As the sweet sounds began to penetrate the rock surface, an amazing transformation took place. The roof shook as the rockin insanity flowed forth from their amplifiers, cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer magically appeared on the floor, and the walls were soon covered with pin-ups of nude women and ancient rockabilly idols. The band members could not believe their eyes as the gazed upon this fantastic spectacle. Knowing nothing else to do they immediatley began drinking the beer and started writing the most kick-ass tunes they could think of. Soon after, the four members were transformed in super-human rock gods. Leaving behind their former identities, they took on the names Billy Dynamite, Dirt Reynolds, Lance Steel, and Guy Parker, and began to prepare their plan to take over the entire world of music. Shortly after the bands formation they started playing gigs at local open mic nights and sorority banquets. Soon after, they began playing shows with such noted musicians as Mojo Nixon, Hasil Adkins, Clutch, and many others. They currently are performing in various musical venues and festivals along the east coast, and create chaos wherever they can. They recorded and produced their first album "The Fat, The Bald & The Ugly" in 1999 and have since followed it up with "Hard Liquor and Left Hooks" in 2004.
