Pistols and Poets

Pistols and Poets were losely formed in late 2004 when Jim phoned up his already good friends Finn and Geordan and said 'hey lets start a band' (in the campest voice possible). So they did.

This was cool for a while, we could say we were in a band and not have to do anything. But then we thought we might have a bit more fun and actually play something. So to do this we started looking for a drummer. We looked and looked but had no luck, then one day one of our friends came to us and said that we had to check out this kid called Ed, 'hes amazin'. So we did and we were thoroughly satisfied.

So there we had it, Finn, Jim, Geordan and Ed. Still didnt have a name though. So we pondered and eventually came up with gangsters and poets, but that was taken so we comprimised and went with Pistols and Poets, which actually sounds alot better come to think of it so we stuck with it. We then got a myspace.

Over the years we've supplied support for sets by Bloc Party and Dirty Pretty Things, as well as played various venues, and festivals across London.



Most recently, we've been writing new material to start work on a album later on in the autumn :)
