P.O.W./Prisoners of War consists of umi and Scribe, two daring MCs with a musical yet rebellious style. Their collective name speaks to oppressed people world wide that have no voice or representation.

P.O.W. means the wars in front of you, reminds umi, were Pissing Off Whitey, teaching the Principles Of Warriors!

The two lyrical assassins linked up in 1994 and started P.O.W. in 2000. In their respective careers, they have opened for or shared the stage with The Roots, Dave Chappelle, Mos Def, Styles P, Maceo Parker, Busta Rhymes, Young Bloods, Method and RedMan, dead prez, David Banner, Ghostface Killa and Erykah Badu just to name a few.



As of date, they have released two projects entitled THE STREET REPORT VOLUMES 1 and 2. The two projects present a clear depiction of what the artists have experienced in their daily lives. They speak from their heart and have the hottest production and collaborations to support their thoughts. They have come to speak with and not for the people. Umi has released a solo mixtape entitled A Race Against Time and Scribe plans to release a solo project later this year. Their highly anticipated debut album plans to hit stores late 2007. In a time when hip hop has become fashionable, these masters of ceremony reminds us that we all are victims of our surroundings and all have become Prisoners Of War
