Piskie Sits racket is fuelled by a love of US slacker noisenik pioneers of the 80s/90s (Pavement, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur JR, Sebadoh, Breeders), their Scottish equivalents (JAMC, Teenage Fanclub, Vaselines) and classic English pop artists such as David Bowie and Blur.
They've released the LP 'The Secret Sickliness', a few singles including the live favorite 'What Is The Point?', and most recently their latest four track EP 'The Way I'd Like To Go'.
They've played with The Fall, Frightened Rabbit, The Research (tour support), Envelopes, Wild Beasts, Times New Viking, Nine Black Alps, Hatcham Social, Copy Haho, Sky Larkin and many more. They've played at many festivals up and down the country including Leeds Fest, have done sessions for John Peel, BBC 6Music and BBC Raw Talent.
The band are currently writing towards a follow up album to 'The Secret Sickliness' and continue to play live wherever they can.
Reviews of our latest EP 'The Way I'd Like To Go':
'You only need to listen to this EP to understand that this band deserves to be massive'.'But its not just the voice as spellbinding as it is, its the way that each and every aspect of the band comes together so naturally to make such a unique sound. Needless to say I'm a fan.'
Rhubarb Bomb
'The EP is refreshingly filler-free and comes highly recommended to the kind of indie rock aficionados who dig the ATP line ups and read hipper sites than TMF.'
The Music Fix 7/10
