Pipher is creation of Moncton song- and fiction-writer Lee D. Thompson. Since 2006, Lee has collaborated with artists around the galaxy, releasing, in digital format, experimental EPs and albums via netlabels in Mexico and Italy. These releases include "Lyko", an EP with Ocosi (Paul Molyneaux of England), "Fathom", an album with Molloy and His Bike (Eduardo Padilla of Mexico) and two solo releases, the EP "Reliquary" (Naked Noises Netlabel) and the album "His Creeping Gospel" (Dog-Eared Records).
Though interested in atmospheric disturbances and fractured, surreal storytelling, Thompson enjoys crafting more traditional songs as well, which led to the recording of "Till Light."
"Till Light" was recorded by John Maher during late 2011 and early 2012. Thompson plays all acoustic guitars and sings lead and background vocals. Additional instruments and arrangements are provided by John Maher. Allan Cooper plays electric blues and slide guitar on "The Lion's Teeth." Colleen Furlotte provides backing vocals on five tracks.
Lee D. Thompson is a published novelist and short story writer, a recipient of writing grants from ArtsNB and the Canada Council for the Arts. He is currently executive director of the Writers' Federation of New Brunswick.Reliquary EP
