Most importantly, I am the proud father of two awesome daughters.
In 2008, I joined Emmylou Harris' "Red Dirt Boys", one of the greatest honors of my life. I continue to travel and record with Ms Harris, and am looking forward to being with her on the Lilith Fair Tour 2010.
In 2009, I began production on an album of spiritual songs, which will be completed by Christmas 2010. For this multi-artist project, I'm excited to have produced tracks on Emmylou Harris, Mat Kearney, The Civil Wars, and myself. Scheduled for Spring 2010 are Cindy Morgan, Ruby Amanfu, Dan Tyminski, Buddy Miller, and John Scofield, and more to be announced shortly.
I am honored to write songs with some wonderful writers - Merrill Farnsworth, Cindy Morgan, Mat Kearney, Gordon Kennedy, Kim Carnes, Wayne Kirkpatrick, The Warren Brothers, Matraca Berg, Lynn Nichols, Tommy Sims, and many others. I've had songs recorded by Alison Krauss, Garth Brooks, Toby Keith, Bruce Hornsby, Point of Grace, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. In 2009, I received a Dove Award for the "Country Song of the Year" with my pal Cindy Morgan.
