ABOUT BOB POREMBSKI & PHAM!

Legendary songwriter and producer Van Dyke Parks said, "ac-ro-nym is a companion piece in my car and happy for it!.Bob Porembski is contributing to our American musical heritage."

PHAM! has also been called, "the sound of summer, coming soon to a theatre in your ears" by DJ Stan Hilborn, aka Spaceman Stan of 98.5 FM CKWR.

Songwriter, vocalist, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, producer and music industry educator Bob Porembski - drummer, songwriter, vocalist Ken Higgins - and bassist, vocalist Jim Murphy not only put their musical talents together to form the band, they put the first letters of their last names together as well to form the acronym -- the bands name

-- PHAM!

The trio performed virtually non-stop for 10 years in the NY tri-state area. At the peak of their popularity, anywhere from 1500 to 3000 people would squeeze into college and high school auditoriums as well as teen clubs and bars to enjoy the bands unique harmony. PHAM! not only played the hits of the day but also chronicled the times with their finely crafted pop tunes, written by Bob and his oft times collaborator, Ken.

The story of PHAM! is one of camaraderie, talent and perseverance. Their new CD "ac-ro-nym.", is an album with 1960's rock sensibility that takes full advantage of the fidelity of 21st Century technology. Lovingly produced by Bob Porembski, it captures the part of PHAM! that once was and redefines what PHAM! is now.

And the songs have proven to be timeless. The song that leads off the CD, "Good Morning, I Love You" was featured on the edgy TV comedy, "Good Girls Dont". "ac-ro-nym." is also in rotation on a number of radio stations and was nominated for CD of the year.

Bob's song "Feelin' More Like Christmas" is a seasonal TV hit that has been featured on the CBS daytime drama, "The Young and the Restless, USA Network's, "12 Days of Christmas" as well as TRIO and BRAVO Networks.

He also wrote the official Special Olympics theme song, "Take a Hand, Make a Friend".

Most recently, Bob was commissioned by Universal Music to write and record new children's music. His "Rainy Day Song" from "ac-ro-nym.", has been placed on a new children's CD due out this winter. Bob is on the faculty of the Music Business and Technology Program at Mercy College where he teaches all the Music Business courses and supervises the Internshhip Program.

When all is said and done, it is, after all, the music that matters.

PHAM! Not the same, different.

By the way, in all battles of the bands, PHAM! remains undefeated at 3-0.
