Panther God Interview

>>>>>Panther God, (formerly PG-13) is producer and lyricist hailing from Miami, Fl. He spent his formative years watching MTV like the rest of us, in a small suburban town where he'd stay up late to calibrate his FM radio antenna, hoping to catch snippets of the Miami Bass stations transmitting Kid N Play and Gucci Crew.
Between the fuzz of radio static, heavy beats, and braggadocio rhymes, PG found his inspiration, his musical space to explore. After high school, he moved to Miami to become a painter but was quickly sucked into the street rapping arena, where he developed his linguistic talents while connecting with improv poets, dancers, and live musicians.

>>>>>At age 21, PG, frustrated with depending on other producers for beats, decided it was time buy an MPC and start making his own soundtrack to rap and sing over. Inevitably, PG was drawn more and more into the never ending labyrinth of music performance and production, having since released 3 eps, and a full length collaboration as Junc Ops with Kentsoundz, which landed them a 3 spot on the CMJ charts, right up there with Del The Funky Homosapien and Guru (Gangstarr).
>>>>>In 2005, coinciding with the release of his first award winning ep, 7 Songs For My Friends, PG founded the label Circuitree Records, which has quickly become an internationally recognized platform for the musical visions of some of the most talented young artists from around the globe, including Machine Drum, Take, Jimmy Edgar, Mike Slott, Jacque Polynice, and more. Having joined forces with the red hot graphic designer Kent Hernandez in 2007, Circuitree is set to hit it's 15th release this year, with Panther God dropping the mysterious Nightshade ep in March.
