Petticoat was a vision of mine that I began writing/recording/playing with during the summer of '03. I was 17 years old. There were many members along the way; none of which stayed with the band throughout its entirety, except for myself. The members listed on Myspace are the ones who cared and contributed the most about/to the band. I usually tell people that Petticoat was actually, "3 different bands," due to the fact that our members and overall sound/aesthetic changed so often. Initially I wanted to rip off bands like Cursive, Pavement, The Anniversary, and Desaparecidos. By the end of everything we sounded like a handicapped version of a retarded Fleetwood Mac while looking like we didn't know how to shop at Goodwill. I apologize to anyone who had to see us after the summer of 2005. We're not a band anymore nor will we ever be. Our last official show was played in our hometown of Lexington, KY USA @ The Dame on December 27th, 2007. The last song we ever played live was a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing In The Dark," (we had no intention of this happening but I think it's pretty fucking cool that it did). Thanks to everyone who came out to see us/support us/etc. while we were alive. I live in Toronto now and play full time in The VICIOUS GUNS. Feel free to give us a listen.

Cheers,

RCH IV.
