I've known Peter Manheim since he was just a drummin' tadpole in the fertile ETHS jazz pond with my own two sons. Peter was one of those stand-out young jazzers in an already fine high school jazz program, and those of us familiar with his playing were excited to see him go on to the Oberlin Conservatory to pursue music. While there he studied with the great Jamey Haddad (Paul Simon's percussionist) and broadened his interests to include percussion techniques from many different cultures.

Now on his own and back in Chicago, Peter has teamed up with two New York friends, pianist Alon Tayar (originally from Israel) and bassist Dan Stein to form a fantastic trio that plays both well recognized standards and original compositions. These young fellows are part of the face of the next generation of jazz artists in America. From what I can tell, we're in good hands.
