This summer Josh moved to San Francisco. We are sad that our friend moved so far away, but it's also a opportunity for fresh starts, new sounds, and renewal. We've put just about everything on the internet, and its almost all free--- we hope you enjoy Peel as much as we have.

Dakota and Allison have started making music with Vinh Ngo. We're shopping around for a band name if you have any suggestions!

Albums and Stuff

Our first EP, "August Exhaust Pipes," was self recorded, self produced, and self pressed--- we gave the CDs away for free to our friends, but you can download the songs from bandcamp (for free!!!) if you want. Our debut album "Peel" came on out Peek-A-Boo Records. You can always stream the album "Peel" for free or purchase it from Peek-A-Boo Records. You can access either album at peel.bandcamp.com. Check out some of the live recordings, videos, podcasts, etc below.

Lip Service:

Bursting with feel-good energy, hooks and crazy-catchy melodies. a collection of perfect, heart-thumping pop songs.

NPR - All Songs Considered, (Robin Hilton) July 2007

Beautiful mess of a debut.

Magnet, (Steve Klinge) July 2007

A warped power-pop sound combining lots of guitar fuzz and other noise with bright, catchy melodies.

KEXP, (Don Yates) March 2007

You can't go wrong with a bunch of jolly honkies from Austin who play tight pop songs smeared with fuzzed-out keyboards and caustic guitars. It's like Stephen Malkmus and Belle & Sebastian adopted a litter of wiry, freckle-faced redheads and, instead of receiving severe beatings for the rest of their lives, the kids were taught how to play slacker twee tunes that don't make you feel gay for listening to them.

Vice, (Lamar Livingston) April 2007

This is exhilarating stuff which gravitates towards greatness the more you play it.

Pop Matters, May 2007

Austin noise-pop quartet Peel's debut album subverts its catchy pop tunes with slatherings of lo-fi tape grot, feedback, tape loops and needling keyboards . these 11 songs are so charming in their exuberance and playfulness that charges of lack of originality are pretty much beside the point.

All Music Guide, April 2007

Peel is like sex. They're both at their best when it's a little sloppy

DC Rock Club, July 2008

Their debut is packed with ideas and ambition. These songs rock with a full-tilt experimental energy.
