Born in Ghana, but raised in Germany since the age of nine, Charles Burndam as an artist is also known as "P.C.B". In 1991, he joined his dad who had earlier settled in Berlin after the separation of his parents when he was just three years old.
During his primary German language lessons, he always persuaded his mates and friends to make the studies amusing by singing and dancing with him. P.C.B grew up enjoying pop and rap music in particular. "The first song I ever learned was "Another part of me" by Michael Jackson " he recalls."That was a song I used to dance to and just sing all day when I was younger."
As time passed by his environment changed. It was in school where he first experienced Hip-Hop music. By listening to rappers and taking every lyrical battle serious, he truly proved his worth of being capable to adapt.
Artists like 2pac Shakur, Mary J. Blige, DMX, T.I., Keri Hilson, Ja Rule, R. Kelly and John Legend had a big influence on his musical background and development.
Full of motivation P.C.B soon began to write his own lyrics on 'instrumentals'. Within two weeks he tirelessly produced seventeen songs which he called it "Creativity". This debut album was produced on a tape deck in the year of 2002 and to win him recognition, sold many copies during his schooling. He appeared on local mix tapes, had various benefit performances, and within a very short time became one of the neighborhood's best and beloved unsigned artists. To share his success with his fans & loved ones, he began posting some of his songs and performance footages on-line.
In 2007 after being spotted by a "SoBe Entertainment" records executive at a talent show in Berlin, it took no time for P.C.B's career to take off. During his promotion time, he was able to link up with Grammy Award winners and Hip-Hop icons like - Scott Storch, Will Smith, Luniz, Daniel Craig, Ashanti, and Ice Cube. In every club where P.C.B is featured his fans are sure to be thrilled by his new compositions and rhythm.
His first single "Clubbin'" took him straight to the fans and was celebrated with an on air radio play for weeks. "I want people to feel that I really take them on a ride, when they listen to my songs" says P.C.B in one of his recent interviews. With many things going his way, P.C.B is not prepared to take it easy. He stays relevant in the music scene where his presence is undoubtedly peerless. In 2009, through several project performances and appearances on mix tapes like "Join the Movement", his appeal for funds got a lot of fans to donate towards the cause of Tibet.
P.C.B is currently in studio working on his latest album.
