Mike Patton's Live Vocal Range - Video
PUBLISHED:  Mar 09, 2017
DESCRIPTION:
The "vocal range" is basically the range of notes one can produce from his or her lowest note to the highest. Every sound one produce with his or her different forms of voice is a range of notes (screaming, falsetto, drive, etc.). Mike Patton is a singer with 6,2 octaves —even more I think— of controlled vocal range ("musically useful" pitches that a singer can produce). Some people say Mike's vocal range isn't valid. They probably think vocal range and tessitura are the same characteristic or qualitie of human singing voice. Tessitura is one's comfortable/consistent range and vocal range is decided by the extremes. Mr. Patton controls the extremes with a great variety of techniques and his screams are just godly (thats why it's controlled). Thanks for watching!

PD: Actually, this video doesn't pretend to showcase all his live vocal range. There are already 3 more videos in this channel where you can see a lot more of his vocal potential. You can also see that a majority of the performances shown here are little known or underrated. In other words, this video doesn't intend to really do justice to him as a definitive compilation of all his talent.
