Patrick Egwu, well connected 30 year old hip-hop producer/business man and owner of New York based Tottally Banned Entertainment's is on a major path to greatness. A mogul in the making.

At the age of 15, Patrick started out a music career as one third of former London underground rap group: Da'Banned, releasing a few singles and eps under the then Tottally Banned Productions. Under the tutelage of well-known and connected British music artist agent - Olu Oyenigba (who is also manager to Asian music success Shahin Badar), Da'Banned went on to embark on national tours, as well as doing national and international TV shows, and even mixing up with big names such as the Asian Dub Foundation, Tim Westwood, and recording with Pheobe One, and many more. In summary, Da'Banned's resume/curiculum vitae was long.

However, that is were the fairy-tale ended, because though Da'Banned were well known and received in London's underground hip-hop scene, rocking big shows and big venues with their underground street hit "I getz Mad" amongst others, the group's main quest for commercial sucsess eluded them. In time, this led to a break-up of the group, hence Patrick concentrated on what has now turned out to be his first love - hip-hop music production. In 2001 at the age of 23 Patrick delivered and produced a track for MC Intense, of London's infamous MudFam and former host of the city's monthly hip-hop event - Mudlumz. The following year, Patrick who had started spending majority of his time with relatives in New York, was invited by Sharon Smith as a guest to Mos Def's Broadway Show: Top-Dog, Under-Dog, where he gave Mos Def's camp an instrumentals CD, with the hope of partaking in the latter's up-comming recording project, though nothing materialised from that particular meeting, it proved that Patrick is able to develop the contacts were it matters the most.

It has been a few years since then, and in-between finishing his university under-graduate degree, Patrick has crafted tracks for his brother and well known underground UK rapper Sedgli Slim, another UK artist - Thugzy, former Da'Banned member Shazaad "Killa" Brown, Lady Play-Girl, and a host of others.

On the promotional front, Patrick has sponsored, organised, and promoted events at well known London venues including, Cork's Wine Bar, Cynthia's, and The Brink, amongst others. Amongst the list of dejays he has worked with include respected names, such as 90% The Hit Squad, Butch Kassidy, and the Indispensible Blacknights. Events hosted and organised by Patrick have been listed and advertised in prominent publications such as The Voice and New Nation, amongst others.

Most recently, Patrick has been working behind the scene re-invent himself and his entertainment out-fit as a strong brand name both in New York and London.

Keep checking back as Patrick's project takes shape.
