Pat Bianchi. The touted protégé of organ master Joey DeFrancesco, Bianchi has established himself as one of today’s elite jazz organists. JazzTimes proclaimed Bianchi “a strong new voice in the current wave of Hammond B3 organists.”—a description in keeping with his selection as one of the top 10 Jazz Organists in the 2007 Downbeat Readers Poll. Pat is a new and unique voice on the Hammond, that carries with him the respect and understanding of tradition with the creative hunger to propel the music forward.



Releasing his sophomore recording as a leader in July of 2010, Back Home debuted at #15 on the Jazz Week charts. Bianchi’s recording features Terell Stafford on trumpet, Wayne Escoffery on saxophone and Ralph Peterson Jr on drums. Bianchi’s newest recording offers a new take on the traditional jazz organ conception while acknowledging the history and the Hammond B3’s roots in Jazz. While performing as a leader, Pat is currently working as a sideman with many luminaries in the world of Jazz including: Joey DeFrancesco, George Coleman, Houston Person, Mark Whitfield, Kenny Washington, Terell Stafford, Alvin Queen, Peter Bernstein. He is also currently a member of Lou Donaldson’s Quartet, saxophonist Tim Warfield’s Quartet and Bianchi also co-leads a group with drummer Ralph Peterson Jr paying tribute to Larry Young and his classic Blue Note release, Unity.
