Mike Chlasciak originated in Poland. He was transplanted to the U.S. in 1984. He attended Berklee College of Music, graduating top of his class in 1994. He formed bands called Isolation Chamber and PainmuseuM and has over the years released five solo based critically acclaimed albums.
He is currently playing guitar for Halford led by Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford. Hailed as one of metal's diverse and talented bands, Halford released 4 studio albums, a best of collection, 2 home DVDs as well as several other rarities and EPs. To date, Halford sold well over a million records and have toured the world several times over including high profile arena tours with Iron Maiden, Queensyche and Ozzy Osbourne. Mike has also played in bands Testament and Sebastian Bach, the voice of Skid Row.
Additionally he has performed on records with Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden and Guns N' Roses' Axl Rose.
Metal Mike pens his own guitar column for Guitar World magazine called "Metal For Life"
Metal Mike is currently preparing a solo record called "The Metalworker" featuring Daath's Kevin Talley and vocal siren Carlos Zema.
