Heute haben wir mal wieder internationalen Besuch auf dem Balkon - letztens noch auf dem Melodica Festival in der Pony Bar zu hören und sehen, heute bei uns über der lauten (Feuerwerkskörper??!) Reeperbahn: Owls of the Swamp aus Melbourne, Australien! Der Name ist eine kreative Ableitung aus seinem richtigen Namen, Peter Uhlenbruch. Dieser erklärt auch gleichzeitig, warum der Australier so gut Deutsch kann. Was er noch kann, ist Musik machen: "Blending ethereal melodies with organic instrumentation, Owls of the Swamp has performed his unique style of 'swamp-folk' all around the Melbourne music scene including venues such as Manchester Lane, the Espy, the Empress, Ding Dong, Bar Open, Ruby's Lounge, the Wesley Anne. Inspired by two life-changing trips to Iceland in the summer and winter, Owls of the Swamp returned home in late 2006 to record his critically acclaimed debut record Smoky Bay. Through 2007, Owls of the Swamp has been performing regularly and promoting Smoky Bay. In August, he toured the East Coast of Australia with Tom Woodward (ACT) and good friend Svavar Knutur (Iceland) as part of the successful Misery and Redemption Tour." Eben jener Svavar Knutur war es auch, der sich spontan ins Fenster setzte und den Solo-Song zu einem mit Duo-Einlagen machte.
