Oriol Stardust started writing his own songs at the age of 13. Since at the time he wasn't able to play any instruments and could barely sing, he just used to scream some lyrics in catalan (his native tongue) and beat a plastic box with his hands in order to provide some rhythm. One year later he started taking guitar lessons, but he never learned that much. But who cared: he was a punk rocker (and he still is, if you consider punk to be something else than just wearing a spiked dog collar and a bunch of safety pins). Some years later he started songwriting again and in 2005 he recorded his first demo. That same year he met Joie Blaney (Dead Blonde Girlfriend), who introduced him to the New York City antifolk scene, which would become one of his hugest influences.
In early 2006 he played the Sidewalk Cafe in New York City's East Village and, one year later, he opened two nights of Nick Garrie's Spanish tour. In summer 2008 he recorded an EP with Ricky Gil (bass) and Pol Font (drums), who've been key members in well-known barcelonian bands like Brighton 64, Matamala or Top Models. One of the tracks they recorded, "Top of the Hill", appeared on the BipBip Records compilation "Somos los Mods 2". Also in 2008, two tracks from his first demo, "Dancing with the Clown" and "Brown Water", were featured in Bonvivant Records compilation "Megatón Ye-yé 11". The EP finally came out in 2009 under the title "I'm Sorry for Loving You". In 2009 and 2010 he played with acts like Top Models, Southerly, T.S. Brooks, The Wowz, Ching Chong Song, Peter Piek, Blauson, Brian Speaker or Dan Costello, and in July 2010 he performed at the Down By The River Festival in Berlin.
In 2011 he went to Argentina, where he played a few gigs in La Plata, Bernal and Buenos Aires. On coming back to Europe, he kept on performing around Barcelona and payed one more visit to Berlin. Finally, on March 24th, 2012, he played his Farewell Show at Colectivo Salón, in Barcelona. Mónik Fuuur (Ivyfuuur The Polimonstre) and Ricky Gil (Brighton 64) played as guest musicians, and some say it was his best concert ever.
