Once the Sun

Powerful, Brooding, Emotional. These are some of the words used to describe OncetheSun's unique blend of Alternative Hard Rock.



Having played hundreds of shows and opening for national acts such as, The Birthday Massacre, Fashion Bomb, Allele, Rickets, Luna Mortis, and dozens of local and regional acts OncetheSun has shown themselves to be an extremely versitle band that can blend into any music scene and genre and still leave a lasting impression.



Officially formed in 2005, 15 minutes north of Milwaukee (not far from an Emu farm), OncetheSun set out to make music that would set themselves apart from an aging and increasingly stale music scene. Which they have accomplished time and time again,,, From thier multiple 1st place wins at the Emergenza music festival and other Milwaukee area battles, to thier apperances at Milwaukee SUMMERFEST, as well as thier constant presence across Wisconsin OncetheSun has quite a list of accomplishments. All starting with thier 1st 3 song demo in 2005.



In 2007, OncetheSun was in full octane pursuit of their conquest of audio world domination. With the full length LP "Shadows" (which included thier original demo songs) being released in limited quantities, and in 2008 their 5-song EP "Blank Stares and Broken Words", OncetheSun proved themselves not only as a formidable live band but also as song writers with songs like, "Scales and Mirrors", "Abnaki" and "Inevitable". Which gave them local acclaim as well as multple awards on sites like garageband.com.



The years have proven bountiful but also full of obstacles for OncetheSun. No strangers to hardship, The group has dealt with the deaths of many loved ones, illnesses of family and friends, and more recently the departure of original guitarist Eric Kassens. Such events would destroy most groups. But they have only served to strengthen the band's resolve. Armed with new live guitarist Adam Didier (of the Light Asylum) OncetheSun is set to prove that great "ORIGINAL" music exists in Wisconsin and in the world at large. To prove that there are bands who still write from the heart and dont follow the "cookie cutter" sound that has over run the music industry.



To prove this point OncetheSun entered Bobby Peru's recording studio in Milwaukee to create a new album tenetivly entitled "8 degrees below".
