OLIVETREEDANCE
OliveTreeDance fuses dance music, all-acoustic, with the tribal sounds of indigenous instruments, creating an unforgettable experience that has attracted a diverse audience interested in world music, dancemusic and playing the Didgeridoo, the aboriginal musical instrument from Australia. It has therefore been classified as bio natural dance music: the group can be innovative in introducing real instruments on dancemusic stage usually produced by machines.
From their journey into ancient african-brazilian sounds and jazz, combined with a strong percussion that marks the rhythm of contemporary dancemusic, results an organic and vibrant sound. When playing live, OliveTreeDance is an energetic act, innovative and powerful.

Roots
Created in 2003 by Renato Oliveira (Oliver), the group emerged in the following of Liverpool's recording of it's first solo album entitled "Deep Inside the Organic." Then came the jam's in 2005, at "Andanças" Festival, where he started the band with drums and percussion. It was an easy leap to the manifestation of a cohesive repertoire and at the same time exciting. There will be some important invitations, such as the Australian Embassy invitation for the band to perform live on portuguese television, in the "Seven new wonders of the world and Portugal". Meanwhile, the first EP - "Urban Roots - Explosive energy in 100% organic dance music" by Optimus Records is released.
OliveTreeDance is now considered to be one of the most promising bands worldwide away from the pop and rock scene. They've played in several Festivals in Portugal from the World/Roots Music scene, such as:
Festival Andanças (2004 to 2009), Festival Etnias Porto (2005 & 2008), Festival Islâmico de Mértola (2006), Festival Tribal (2007 & 2008), Festival Med em Loulé (2007), Festival Portugal a Rufar (2008), Festival dos Oceanos (2008), Festival Chocalhos (2008/9), Festival Ecos da Terra (2009), Festival 7 Luas 7 Sóis (2009), Boom Festival (2006) & Freedom Festival. They've also been abroad, in such different countries as:
- India, 2007 and also April 2009, by www.Dadamusic.in;
- Brazil, in a three month tour, having played in the biggest electronic music event in that country - "Universo Paralello";
- Slovakia, 2007, and August, 2009;
- Netherlands, for the first time in 2005, at Europe's most important international festival of Didgeridoo, coming back in 2007 for a professional tour with Mucic Reps;
- Italy, 2007 at Internacional Festival of Didgeridoo, "NatiBongo Fest";
- Spain, having often attended (2006, 2007 and 2008) the Manani Rock. They also played at Cerka'l Festival in 2007.
The unusual dynamic percussion along with the exotic sounds of the Didgeridoo make this concert a musical show unlike any other, and this is the only project of its kind in Portugal.
What do the Media say about OliveTreeDance?
"Coming from another planet . the best sound that has appeared in Portugal." In Blitz
"The OliveTreeDance won the last Rockastru's. Acoustic show, responsibility of Renato Oliveira (didgeridoo), Tito Silva (drums) and Paul Cave (percussion), the OliveTreeDance are one of the most exciting projects of our time. Magic . » In atrompa.blogspot.com
"The best that this world can offer OliveTreeDance is a space station. overlooking the galaxy of Sun Ra." In Blitz, Sérgio Gomes da Costa
"The second day of the festival once again failed to capture the attention of the public and the scenery became bleak. Fortunately, the OliveTreeDance concert managed to transform the empty space into a meeting of celebration, and multi-cultural. The group uses in a perfect way the potential of percussion, focusing on didgeridoo to create a tribal climate, something primitive, and it involves body and soul in a breeze from the African continent (.) It is easy to see why the OliveTreeDance have achieved some progress internationally, they are good at making music." Felgueiras in News
"In concert, they place the free jazz and psychedelia hiding trance, funk intruding, techno and drum'n'bass in search of an outlet, and a number of ethnic groups on the way home. The organization asked the public not to rise, but it all ended in a healthy buzz." In Blitz
