SEAN A.K.A KDOGG as people call him is blazing the trail in this afro 'r n b', hip hop scene.Occasionally,perhaps very occasionally,an artist will come through who stands head and shoulders above the competition and in the world of Nigerian hiphop,The competition does not get much tougher.
Born OluSeun Komolafe into a family of four, he is a versatile vocalist,songwriter and producer and also a founder of OKSOUNDZ his own independent record label.
KDogg began feeling the music within at age 13. "I've been in the underground but now i feel like exploding" he says. Since stepping onto the Nigerian HipHop Scene in 2006, KDogg's undeniable talent and lyrical dexterity has taken him quickly to the front of the pack. His breakout hit single - "Shake It" - is one of the hottest songs for 2006 and with a sexy video to match, it signalled the arrival of Nigerian HipHop's next superstar.
My first appearance into the Nigerian hip-hop scence was in 2000 when i feautured in KOMO's ''NATODAY'' single which was a blow in Lagos and some other part of Nig.Then, Nigerian afro hip-hop scene was just begginning 2 cut an edge in the music industry.I was still studying in the university of Ibadan at the time when i first proffessionally recorded in the studio. But before then,I've alwayz loved music as a hobby.and i do notice that i would be singing 2 myself whenever and in whatever i do.Along the way,while living in Lagos, My Brother will drag mii 2 the studios 2 record hooks for his rap cause he was working on his album then and it was not just me, we had a cliq called virus camp.we all met up in the hood and made music.It was fun!!.At that time whenever i hit the studios,i'ii meet other up cumming artists like the plantation boyz which was then ''2face,face,and blackface''and we will record tracks together.I wined and dined with a lot of Nigerian artist then even when i was not really in the scene full time cause of my studies.Then it was TONY TETULA,KOMO,DEF O CLAN,RUFF RUGGED,TRIBES MEN,FATHER U TURN,PLANTATION BOYZ and 2 name a few that was really into it!!
I knew one day i would be doin something promosing 2 the indusrty cause i grew up in that ''afro'' prime which is why most people wonder and ask me, ''when have u been doin this for?''.
I was given the name K-DOGG,when i was in college i finished my secondary education in the North.i used 2 mime snoop dog's rap then,and my fellow mate used 2 love the way i did it in class and then they came up with that nick name ''K-DOGG''.The K stands for KOMOLAFE which is my surname.School dayz was fun cause we caught a lot of girlz in doin that mime biz.
My Influences in my music world would be the Angels God sent 2 give me that musical touch,cause i believe music is something that comes from within.Unfortunately,its not everyone that feels music but thank God for people like u that know good music.I listen 2 ,marvin gay,Bob marley,Fela,R.kelly,boyz 2 men and 2 name a few but my main influence is JAH!!
