A PRE -HISTORIA: Adhemar Della Torre (Bateria) e Felipe Bier Nogueira (Baixo e Voz) estudaram juntos no colegial e, desde 2000, tocaram juntos em algumas bandas. Já em 2003, Felipe juntou-se a uma banda da qual Leandro Duarte Publio (Guitarra e Voz)já participava; após se tornarem amigos e perceberem que tinham gostos em comum, os dois se juntaram a Adhemar, formando uma nova banda em que Publio e Felipe pudessem tocar juntos.
Depois de muitas entradas e saídas de integrantes, André Leonardo dos Santos (Guitarra e Voz), no inicio de 2005, respondeu a um anuncio no orkut que procurava integrantes pra formar uma banda com influencias de Travis, Oasis, Los Hermanos e outras bandas, e assim marcaram um ensaio e logo depois concretizaram a união que está explícita no nome do conjunto: Oito Mãos.
Hoje, mantendo-se fiel ao prazer de fazer e escutar música, a banda está conseguindo desenvolver criativamente um estilo próprio, respeitando a individualidade (musical e pessoal) de cada membro. O fato de haver três compositores no grupo Felipe, Leandro e André contribui para tal diversidade criativa.
Quando se ouve o primeiro trabalho da banda pode-se com facilidade notar que cada música representa um universo individual que se interliga com o universo vizinho. E assim, pensando na diversidade musical resultante de três compositores em um leque de quatro visões particulares sobre a música, é possível ver surgir uma banda inusitada e original.
É a possibilidade de criação em grupo que a Oito Mãos mais deseja explorar e oferecer a boa musica resultante desse processo ao maior numero de pessoas interessadas.

Prehistory: Adhemar Della Torre (Drums) and Felipe Bier (Bass and vocals) estudied together in high school and, since 2000, have played together in several bands. In 2003, Felipe joined the band of what Leandro Publio (Guitars and Vocals) was already part; after becoming good friends and realizing they had the same musical taste, they got together with Adhemar to start a new band. Afterwards, in the middle of the struggle to find the fourth member of the band, André Leonardo (Guitars and Vocals) answered the band’s request for a guy who was in tune with the other member’s musical taste: some British bands like Travis, Oasis, The Beatles; the Brazilian band Los Hermanos and some other stuff as well. Since the very beginning, the band’s intent was to solidify the union of the members towards a common goal: to maintain themselves loyal to the pleasure of making good music, respecting the creative individuality of each musician. The fact of having three composers on the band – Felipe, Leandro e André – contributes to such creativity diversification. Without losing of sight these characteristics, it is possible that Oito Mãos emerges today in the musical scenario as a vibrating hope to those who seek a fresh and intelligent sound.
