A coming-of-age tale that will warm your heart and freezer-burn your icee pops .



ON THE MEAN LAWNS of suburban Providence,

an 8-year-old kid discovers rap and finds hope.



3rd Grade: Overnight infamy. Nervous teachers. Roller-skating heartbreak.

Junior high: Overnight nerditude. Comic books, video games. Wedgies.

High School: Redemption. Finally, rap = cool, and rap book reports = even cooler.



Then,

Fancy college / build skills / move to Brooklyn / get mugged / open mics / build flows / heckle heckle / bigger clubs / build rep / killer show / killer songs / build on / BUILD ON.
