Best Version of Jesu, Joy Of Man's Desiring by Bach (With Lyrics) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Oct 17, 2010
This is the best version I know of the song "Jesu, Joy Of Man's Desiring" (BWV Cantata 147) (with lyrics too) by Johann Sebastian Bach. It was performed by the New London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Leopold Stokowski, with the Norman Luboff Choir. It has been released multiple times, including by RCA Victor Records in 1992 on a CD entitled "Bach: Greatest Hits". The song is available for purchase at this link:
To this day I have yet to find a better version of this song. In German titles: " Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben " (Heart and mouth and deed and life).
" Jesus bleibet meine Freude "

Jesu, joy of man's desiring,
Holy wisdom, love most bright;
Drawn by Thee, our souls aspiring
Soar to uncreated light.

Word of God, our flesh that fashioned,
With the fire of life impassioned,
Striving still to truth unknown,
Soaring, dying round Thy throne.
