STAR FRUITS was established by DJ/ Producer, Mitsuru Enomoto (bayaka) in 2003, who started djing from 1989 and was a resident DJ at Club Yellow and as a producer released albums from many labels domestically and abroad. The label's main business is music production & artist management.
As a producer, Mitsuru produced music for many commercials for Japanese department store, Marui, drinks company, Ito-en as well as FM Tokyo's sound logo, public broadcast tv station, etc He has also energetically produced remixes for many domestic J-Pop artists, such as Mink, Ami Suzuki, Hiro (ex-Speed), etc. He runs 2 labels, one which focuses on mainly domestic artists called Star Fruits Records and is another which he is going to start soon, which will focus mainly on international artists. His own label releases across the broad, from independent club/dance music as well as J-Pop, lounge music, and jazzy hip hop and has caught the attention of a cross selection of fans. Ode Music has upuntil now, released works by domestic artists, such as Jazzida Grande, Free Tempo, Tobeta Bajune, DJ Motive, bayaka, etc. They also released recently works that featured club music artists that are renowned overseas such as Studio Apartment, Free Tempo, akakage, Toshio Matsuura,Chari Chari, Calm, and gained much attention.
The label also works hard in developing new artists such as LIL',, TOMOMI UKUMORI who are currently up and coming. In regards to LIL', their music has been used for a tie-up in a Nintendo DS game software. Forthcoming, LIL' will release remixes by currently the
hottest names abroad, big name overseas artists such as Kaskade, Rasmus Faber, and in colloboration with Marvelous Entertainment, Inc., just released 2 mini albums this year.
