"Donn T is kaleidoscopic. Her self titled debut album follows suit with a broad spectrum of styles, that takes you from the scene of the late 70’s and mid 80’s post-disco New York, to the underground clubs of Chicago and Continental Europe. It visits stripped-down London electronic funk influenced sounds, tecky minimal Berlin soul, and soothing melodies that leave you with an appetite for more. And with no fear of showing both dance club aesthetics and pop sensibility, this is a record that will never be outdated.



It has highlights like the up tempo “Luna Garden”, a heavy tecky song that will lead you to the dance floor. Layered vocals and atmospheric programming backed by sharp drums, are reminiscent of Hercules & love Affair and Robert Owens.



Another great floor filler is “Astro Lover” a bouncing track that makes you wonder if she was hanging out with Matthew Herbert and Hot Chip at Arthur Russell’s funky apartment before going to studio 54.



You start to see the great range of her music when you listen to “Look At” a song so beautiful, you can never get tired of it. With serene vocals and broken jazz in the style of 4 hero and Jazzanova, it pushes you down on the couch and you don’t wanna leave.



Rarely does an artist give you a combination of both adrenaline and tranquility. Both of which are easily found in the beautiful world beneath her sound waves. From the most soothing tunes to the raw and unpolished dance floor.
