N-o-m-a is born in Orléans, France, in 1996 by Stefano V. on guitar and vocals and Simon on drums. It first was named Noise Are Us, and its music a mixture of both Grunge and Metal, influenced by bands such as Nirvana and Sepultura. About ten gigs later, where they played some twenty songs of their own as a duet, the band hired a bass player named Greg in 1997

The band is renamed N-o-m-a in 1998, after Simon is dismissed and replaced by Ghilhem. It takes a more Thrash Metal oriented direction as the band covers, live, old Metallica, Slayer and Sepultura songs, while their own songs are being recorded home. But will never be available for people to listen to

Stefano's in 2000 the only remaining member of the band, Ghilhem having left for health reasons and Greg for personal ones. After another try as a three-piece band, N-o-m-a decides the best drummer the band can get is a drum machine.

Two Grunge oriented LP's, 12 Drugsongs and Endless Black Days, are thus home-recorded, with the help of a new bass player, along with the Miss You Juana Ep, and put available on Orléans and Tours, giving the band the opportunity to play some new gigs as well as a certain acknowledgement

The bass player once again leaves the band in 2003, after what Stefano, having bought a lot of new material, re-records N-o-m-a's two first discs, and then writes, records and sells two new albums, Stupid Human, a more Metal oriented album, and Hellbender, an even more aggressive one. This makes four albums for the year 2004. Songs like "Stupid Human", Hellbender" and "Sad Punk" immediately become classics and will thus be re-recorded on future discs

Having given a first gig on his own, Stefano hires back Greg as a bass player in order to please his public and offer them real gigs. But he chooses to record his new album, Hell/Heaven Songs Against Fashion, in 2005, alone. The disc is the first to be available at Orléans's Fnac, and is aired on two radios', one in Orléans, the other in Tours. In 2006 he records the As Drunk As Fuck… Be Punk And Fuck The Gods CD. These to albums leave aside the Grunge influence for a more Metal oriented sound, though it still remains true to the sound the band had at it's beginnings. New musical and rhythmical experimentations are developed on them, as well as a lot of technical, yet improvised solos

N-o-m-a becomes even more professional in its recording technique in 2006, as the new The Seventh Flower's Death is pressed in both a normal and a digipack version, selling to 300 copies.
This record is heavier, thanks to the acquisition of a 7-string guitar. It also is the first one to be recorded with a real bass, still played by Stefano, and features hits like "Sixty-Nine", "Mattia" and most of all "I Drink More Than Jesus", along with re-recorded classics.

The Seventh Flower's Death gives N-o-m-a the opportunity to quit pubs and play gigs on real local scenes, 'til Greg's fired, because of his lack of motivation

Greg's replaced in September 2007 by Lord O'Xane and the band plays a first training gig in a pub, and then a real gig at Metaloween's last act in order to promote N-o-m-a's new Is A Prison's songs, a record that Stefano's once again written and recorded on his own, and which is even more Metal. Dark and violent, the album features "in-your-face" songs such as "Chaos Anthem", "Cold Sand", "I've Reached The Point", perfect for live performances, and more experimental ones, like "Polenta". It also gives the band the opportunity to record a live show for the new local television, Orléans Tv, which airs it on January, the 30th

there is over 1000 noma records selled until the beginning

in november 2008, here come "ghost in the machine" , first album with the new line up, with cecile on bass. this record ils a real melting pot : fat metal, punk, industrial, punk rock, minimalist , every song have a different feeling, this is a very disturbing record for the one who don t know the band. if you listen only one song of the record, you cant have a real opinion of what noma is. all you should know in the end, it s that n-o-m-a want to do an aggressive and well played music, and they are not ashemed to do a grunge song and after a death metal or fast punk song. We like a lot of different bands, there is not only one way in music, everything depends in which feeling you are.
the 10th noma record is titled : "the blank generation", it s a real come back of "in your face" music, with a lot of high screaming voices , alternative things , metal things, melodic lines and noises ! out the 21 november 2009 ! in 2010 they tour with noma and sassy all over France : rheims , nancy , 2 gig in paris , vendée the 11th record "choose your path" , Is out since january 2011 , already 4 tracks in our player ! so enjoy our new direction ! and see you for the next record !
